On this special day, I'd like to post a poem and a story that I got from PravsJ just to remind us all of something that some of us may forgot about... My Mother Taught Me My Mother taught me MEDICINE… My Mother taught me TO THINK AHEAD… My Mother taught me ESP… My Mother taught me TO MEET A CHALLENGE… My Mother taught me HUMOR… My Mother taught me how to BECOME AN ADULT… My Mother taught me about GENETICS… My Mother taught me about my ROOTS… My Mother taught me about the WISDOM of AGE… My Mother taught me about ANTICIPATION… My Mother taught me about RECEIVING… and my all time favorite thing–JUSTICE In between all this, my Mother taught me how to Live! Thank you Mom for all I have learned these years. Give Value To Relationships A man stopped at a flower shop for ordering some flowers to be sent as a gift to his mother who lived two hundred miles away. As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing. He asked her what was wrong and she replied, “I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother. But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars.” The man smiled and said, “Come on in with me. I’ll buy you a rose.” He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother’s flowers. As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home. She said, “Yes, please! You can take me to my mother.” She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave. The man returned to the flower shop, cancelled the gifting order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother’s house. At times we take many such relationships with our family and friends for granted. Learn to value them. Happy Mothers Day to all those wonderful moms out there! I love you mom!
My Mother taught me LOGIC…
“If you fall off that swing and break your neck, you can’t go to the store with me.”
“If you don’t stop crossing your eyes, they’re going to freeze that way.”
“If you don’t pass your spelling test, you’ll never get a good job!”
“Put your sweater on; don’t you think that I know when you’re cold?”
“What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you… Don’t talk back to me!”
“When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don’t come running to me.”
“If you don’t eat your vegetables, you’ll never grow up.”
“You are just like your father!”
“Do you think you were born in a barn?”
“When you get to be my age, you will understand.”
“Just wait until your father gets home.”
“You are going to get it when we get home.”
“One day you will have kids, and I hope they turn out just like YOU..then you’ll see what it’s like.”
Best Wishes for Mothers Day!
Lol... I'm a currency trader so this is pretty funny to me. But then again, I might be the only one laughing. Hehe... Oh well, cheers!
I can weather the storm
Never say die
I've been down this road before
I'll never quit
I'll never lay down, mm
See I promised myself that I'd never let me down
[1] - I'll never give up
Never give in
Never let a ray of doubt slip in
And if I fall
I'll never fail
I'll just get up and try again
Never lose hope
Never lose faith
There's much too much at stake
Upon myself I must depend
I'm not looking for place or show
I'm gonna win
No stopping now
There's still a ways to go, oh
Someway, somehow
Whatever it takes, I know
I'll never quit, no no
I'll never go down, mm, mm
I'll make sure they remember my name
A hundred years from now
[Repeat 1]
When it's all said and done
My once in a lifetime will be back again
Now is the time
To take a stand
Here is my chance
That's why I...
[Repeat 1]
Mmm, I'm gonna win
When hope was high,
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid
When dreams were made and used,
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung,
No wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to shame.
And still I dream he'll come to me
And we will live our lives together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather...
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seems
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.
Anyway, I had a mini reunion with the ex-MS people that are in Brunei plus Awie who's here for the holidays but he'll be back to UK tomorrow. Have a safe trip..! We had pastas, lots of em... and pizzas. Guess where? None other than Capers =) Pictures below...
Feels good to be back! It's been six long months after my last update here. So, here I am again... The blog has got its new makeover now and I personally like this new layout. The good news is that all my presentations are done so that's why I've got a little extra time to be blogging but the bad news is that my final exams are coming up very soon so don't expect much update from me by then. I must say that I'm really looking forward to summer holidays. Ahh... can't wait!
